The product
Four screens,
one service.
A waiter, a cook, a cashier and an owner each see the part of the evening that is theirs, built from the same record, so none of them has to ask another what happened.
01Order
The floor, on one tablet.
A server seats a table, builds the round and sends it. The same screen works handed to a guest, or opened from a QR code on their own phone.
- Tables
- Show how long they have been open, and what they owe.
- Dishes
- Carry their photo, their station and their modifiers.
- Offline
- A round queues, and sends itself when the signal returns.
- Idempotent
- Double-tapping Send never produces two tickets.
02Kitchen
Tickets that age in front of you.
Each station sees only its own work. A ticket moves from new to preparing to ready, and the timer is the one thing on a staff screen allowed to move.
- Stations
- Kitchen, grill and bar each get their own screen.
- Granularity
- Mark a single line ready, or the whole ticket.
- 86 a dish
- It greys out on every tablet at once.
- Handoff
- Ready lines tell the floor without anyone shouting.
03Till
Cash, mobile money, card, one bill.
The cashier sees every open check beside the one they are settling, takes payment in any combination, and counts the drawer at close.
- Part payments
- Across methods, with change shown in notes.
- Drawer
- Declared before the expected figure appears.
- Shift close
- Produces a Z-report the owner can open later.
- Reopening
- Needs a manager, and leaves a record.
04Owner
Every action, by every person.
Money taken by hour, best sellers, station timing, and a log of every void, discount and reopened bill with both the actor and the manager who approved it.
- Money taken
- Gross cash through the till, and labelled that way.
- Leaks
- Cash variance, voids after cooking, discounts, reopens.
- Filters
- By person, by device, by kind of event.
- Immutable
- Nothing in it can be edited, by anyone, ever.
05
What it is built on.
The decisions underneath, which are the ones that are expensive to change later.
- Append-only by design
- Every action is a new record.
- Authorisation where money moves
- Each one names who approved it.
- Offline-tolerant writes
- Work continues and syncs automatically.
- Installs as an app
- Runs on standard Android tablets.
- Prints to a kitchen printer
- Sends tickets over the local network.
- Receipts from your own details
- Uses your name, logo and address.
